First Thursday – We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of folks at “First Thursday” September 7th. We will have information available on our trips along with other programs and services we offer at Shepherd’s Center. We will also have tickets available to purchase for our concert, featuring Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers. Be sure to stop by our booth at “First Thursday!”
Sharing Board – We’ve started something new here at Shepherd’s Center and it’s called a “Sharing Board.” If anyone has items they would like to give away, simply list it on the “Sharing Board.” This is only for giveaway items.
Donations – Thank you to everyone who has supported Shepherd’s Center this past month with financial gifts. We received donations in memory of Joan Risty and Leonard Plonsky in July. Without the financial support of the community, we would not be able to continue the many programs offered through Shepherd’s Center.
“Grease” at the Chanhassen – There is still time to get signed up for a trip to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater on Wednesday, October 25th to see “Grease.” The cost is $80 and includes dinner, transportation and the show. Tickets are limited and those interested should call 507-263-2136.
Card Players Welcome – If you enjoy playing cards, be sure to stop by Shepherd’s Center the first and third Monday of each month. The next card playing will be on September 18, from 12:30 till 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to play should RSVP by calling 263-2136.
Community Dinner – Shepherd’s Center is proud to be a part of the local CCIC and will be hosting this month’s “Community Dinner” at the First Congregational Church. The public is invited to stop by at 5 p.m. for a complimentary dinner on Sunday, August 27th. Please consider stopping by for delicious food and wonderful fellowship.
Book Buddies – The new school year will be here before we know it and once again we’re looking for volunteers for our “Book Buddies” program. It’s an enjoyable and rewarding experience as we read to first grade students weekly at the Cannon Falls Elementary School. If interested, please call Shepherd’s Center at 507-263-2136.
Well, as summer will soon come to an end I have to admit, I’m looking forward to fall. I leave you this month with this bit of wisdom; ““You may not be able to turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again!” Thank you for your support of Shepherd’s Center of the Cannon Valley.
