Shepherd Center Summer Activities
Shepherd’s Center will once feature senior softball for those 60 years and older. The "Cannon Falls Boomers" are in their third season, playing in the Southern Minny League against such teams as Northfield, Owatonna and Faribault. John Hobert is the coach of the team and if anyone is interested in playing, they should give John a call at 507-263-3693. Games are played on Tuesday mornings throughout the summer.
The gymnasium is available for pickle ball players throughout the year. However, the gym will be shut down as they resurface the floor from May 22nd until June 12th. There are currently two pickle ball courts available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. To reserve a court, call 507-263-2136.
Shepherd's Center now features table tennis! Yes, anyone is invited to stop by and play Monday thru Friday's between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Paddles and balls are provided.
Of course the gym is open for walking year round and there are also groups that get together to walk outside during the summer.
Shepherd's Center is excited to announce they are sponsoring a trip to Colorado! The group will depart Cannon Falls on September 10th and return September 16th. For more information or to sign up, contact Shepherd's Center or stop by and pick up a brochure.
Our annual trip to Target Field is coming up on May 31st when the Twins take on the Houston Astros. It's a day game with the bus leaving Cannon Falls at 10:30 a.m. for the 12:10 p.m. game. The cost is $60 and includes a lower level ticket, a $10 voucher good at the concession stands and of course transportation. A limited number of tickets are available and to reserve yours, call 507-263-2136.
Shepherd’s Center is planning another outing to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. The group will take in the show “Grease” on October 25th for a matinee performance. The cost is $85, which includes the show, dinner and transportation. Those wanting to attend should RSVP by contacting Shepherd’s Center at 507-263-2136.
